Progress of Short-Term Herbal Medicine Administration for Asymptomatic Proteinuria: Case Report

Abstract

|
Objectives: This case reports a certain level of improvement for asymptomatic proteinuria with short-term administration of herbal medicine.
Methods: In the first treatment phase, the patient was treated with Dangguisu-san (DGSS) for his rib fracture. In the second treatment phase, the patient was treated with a herbal formulation of Astragali and Angelicae Sinensis (A&As particle) for asymptomatic proteinuria.
Results: Treatment with herbal medicine resulted in a decrease in the patient¡¯s complaints regarding symptoms. Also, proteinuria-related items in hematology and urinalysis were improved.
Conclusions: Herbal medicine therapy may be effective for proteinuria treatment.
